Pedigree Wholesale Limited is a family-owned, forward-thinking business dedicated to supplying independent retailers with premium pet and aquatic products since 1972. Our Managing Director has resigned after over six years of leadership and during his tenure we have achieved numerous milestones and navigated many challenges. We now seek a new Managing Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the company. This position requires a seasoned leader who can drive operational efficiency, foster a thriving company culture, and maximize commercial opportunities.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the CEO, the Managing Director will lead our strategic vision, drive growth, and ensure operational excellence. As a key member of the leadership team, you will shape our future, nurture talent, and ensure financial sustainability while fostering innovation and customer-centricity.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

Overall:

Develop and execute a 5-year strategic plan in alignment with company objectives.
Lead and mentor a diverse team to achieve business goals and personal development.
Develop the company's customer service proposition, to ensure the company can offer the best customer service in the industry.
Lead business development efforts, identifying new revenue streams and growth opportunities in line with our "Wholesaler of Choice" mission while ensuring sustainable profitability growth.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders.
Develop a complete Retail solution for Independent Specialist Retailers.
Deliver significant sales growth in the company's exclusive and own brands to meet the strategic objectives.
Develop category management and understanding of the importance of developing product ranges relevant to customers in all channels, including retail, web, and e-commerce.
Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry

Operational Excellence:

Develop and execute strategies to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and optimise resource allocation.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure seamless coordination across functions.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence.

Create a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement, well-being, and professional growth.
Implement talent management strategies, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability. Communicate clear objectives and performance metrics to inspire the team towards success.
