    The Company

    Driven by a passion for our planet and grounded in science, Positive Polar is committed to demonstrating how we can "Proudly and Happily Cruising while making Ocean Wildlife More Abundant, Diverse and Helping to Restore the Climate." We will soon have our first ship in operation, focusing on the Antarctic, the Arctic, and all areas with a significant whale population in between. We aim to establish our company office in Miami.

    The Opportunity:

    We are looking for an energetic and creative Business Development Manager, who will be responsible for establishing and managing relationships with our business partners in Europe. We will be working with a wide variety of partners, travel agents, advisors, tour operators, special interest groups, charterers, and influencers.

    NOTE CANDIDATES NEED TO BE LOCATED IN THE EUROPEAN UNION OR IN THE UK.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    · Establish and develop profitable relationships, focusing on partners that can produce a meaningful volume of business.

    · Identify, pitch, negotiate, and contract groups from the travel trade and member-based organizations (such as nature groups, photography, and museums).

    · Build and conduct sales pitch presentations.

    · Negotiate contracts, build business cases and otherwise manage the commercial aspects of our distribution network.

    · Develop promotional opportunities that produce brand awareness and deliver exceptional ROI.

    · Attend trade shows and hold trade and consumer presentations.

    · Visit our partners for training and promotional opportunities.

    · Maintain a weekly updated summary of the business pipeline.

    · Produce an annual productivity plan for the assigned market.

    · Maintain an up-to-date summary of contact details and relationships for the key contacts at each partner.

    Success criteria and objectives:

    The key to success is to deliver the business plan by establishing profitable business relationships and contributing to profit generation by encouraging partners to over-achieve revenue targets while controlling the costs of distribution. The successful candidate will be measured on lead generation and delivered net revenue.

    Relationship to others:

    · Reports to CCO

    · Direct Reports: none at the start.

    · Inter-relations; company CEO, company president, sales and operations teams.

    · External relations; Our customers and our distribution partner (charterers, tour operators, travel agents, special interest groups, influencers).

    Expected Leadership

    Our Business Development Manager must act as a role model and must show a positive and professional attitude, internally and externally– we listen, take responsibility, engage, set direction, communicate, and lead by example. You set the example with a "roll up the sleeves" mentality.

    Requirements

    · 5 Years of sales management/business development experience in the travel industry.

    · Experience in managing third-party distribution/partner/agency relationships.

    · Experience in developing and executing sales plans.

    · Experience using CRM systems.

    · High level of integrity and strong client service approach.

    · Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

    · Strong independent problem-solving skills and analytic ability.

    · Superior planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.

    · Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.

    · Ambitious for opportunities for personal and business growth/ progress.

    · Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, to visit our partners and trade shows.

    · During trade shows and when experiencing the Company's products, some weekend travel may be required. In some cases, evening and weekend work may be required..

    · The location can be anywhere in the assigned market, with frequent travel to our office in Miami.
