Addictions Counsellor Role available in East Riding Of YorkshireThe Role is Based within a Residential Detox Setting.Temporary (3 Months) to Permanent contractThe role of a Addictions Counsellor -As part of the Treatment Team you will:Manage a caseload, providing risk assessments, and recovery plans.
Deliver a programme of structured group-work sessions and individual 1-1 sessions.Create effective and comprehensive plans for residents that are tailored to their individual needs and help them to achieve their treatment goals.
Be able to deliver the full range of psycho-social interventions relevant to individual client needsDevelop and contribute to the reintegration needs of service users, supporting them in the development of their plans which are appropriate to their needs.
Carry out admission procedures in line with agreed protocols.Important information in regards to the role -The role requires an understanding of the therapeutic needs of residents but also their wider holistic recovery needs that will help them to maintain the progress they make in intensive residential treatment when they return to the community.
Keeping quality at the centre of all delivery ensuring end to end care coordination and recovery plans that meet individual needsBe part of a culture of continuous improvement and learning and suggestions for service development, and as part of this process suggesting cost savings and/or efficiency's when they become apparentEssentialSkills, Knowledge and ExperienceExperience of working within the substance misuse services in a range of settingsExperience of developing holistic recovery plans that address the range of needs of clients in a residential setting.
Experience of delivering structured interventions to service users.Experience of facilitating therapeutic groups.
QualificationsGood standard of general educationLevel 4 counselling qualificationDesirableKnowledge, Skills and ExperiencePersonal experience of addiction/imprisonment (Addicts in recovery should have at least 3 years clean time. Ex-prisoners should have been released at least 5 years ago).Previous experience of working within a residential setting.
Previous experience of working in a 12 step primary care programme.
