Rotational Neurological Physiotherapist - London, United Kingdom - Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
Description
Job overview
BAND 6 ROTATIONAL NEURO PHYSIOTHERAPIST - CAMDEN
An exciting opportunity to join the community based therapy team with the Camden Neurology and Stroke Service (CNSS) and Neuro Inpatient therapy at St Pancras Rehabilitation Unit. The services provide cohesive and client centred rehabilitation to clients at St Pancras Hospital and throughout Camden in clients' own homes, in therapy gym facilities or in wider community settings.
We are recruiting two fixed term roles (6-12 months duration) for maternity leave cover. You will work within one of the the following areas:
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based, client goal focused rehabilitation appropriate to the various specialist areas. We are looking for a highly motivated team worker with excellent communication skills.
This post will allow the successful applicant to continue to improve specialist knowledge and clinical skills in a range of settings. The candidate will work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams and be well supported by senior staff both informally and formally through supervision. There is a strong focus on personal and service development and you will take an active role in these.
We reserve the right to close the advert early dependent on the number of applicants received.
Main duties of the job
The remit of the teams is to provide assessment and intervention for adults with neurological conditions in inpatient rehabilitation or community settings such as clinics, clients' homes and community facilities. The teams promote independence and community integration, and enable self-management where appropriate.
There are 2 rotations within the CNSS and 1 rotation in the St Pancras Neurorehabilitation Unit. These multidisciplinary teams are based at St Pancras Hospital. The largest patient groups seen are clients with a neurological Long-term condition (LTC) such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, MS, spinal cord pathologies & MND.
Camden Neuro and Stroke Service – Community
Clients in the LTC pathway receive specialist assessment and rehabilitation. Each rotation will have a focus but will always include a LTC caseload as well.
St Pancras Neurorehabilitation unit
The 17-bedded inpatient rehabilitation unit at St Pancras Hospital provides a multidisciplinary assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning service for adults with neurological diagnoses requiring complex rehabilitation, disability management and case management.
Working for our organisation
We are a large multidisciplinary team comprising of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, clinical psychologists and rehabilitation assistants. We also work closely with nursing staff, consultants, dieticians and our community partners such as social services, charities and local gyms.
Our teams strive for inclusivity and value everyone's contribution no matter their job role or grade. We know that working in the NHS can be tough so we make sure that we work as a team and support each other through informal and formal supervision. We even have the odd social every now and then too
You will be offered both internal and external learning opportunities and support to develop in your area of interest as well as being encouraged to take part in service development. We value clinical excellence and strive to cultivate an environment which facilitates learning and career development.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
