    Field-Based Telematics Engineer

    Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field-Based Telematics Engineer to join our team. As a Telematics Engineer, you will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and providing technical support for telematics systems, safety systems, and camera systems in various vehicles and equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of telematics technology, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment. Responsibilities
    • Install, configure, and calibrate telematics systems in vehicles including HGV's Trucks, Earthmoving or Quarry equipment, and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and specifications.
    • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality of telematics devices and associated software.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of installed telematics systems, identifying and resolving any technical issues.
    • Provide on-site technical support and training to customers on the use and functionality of telematics systems.
    • Collaborate with customers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure successful system integration.
    • Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and technical support provided.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new telematics technologies, and regulations related to data privacy and security.
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on system enhancements and suggest improvements.
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures while working on vehicles and equipment.
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certification in electronics, telecommunications, or automotive engineering is preferred.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Telematics Engineer or in a related role.
    • Strong knowledge of telematics technology, including GPS tracking, vehicle diagnostics, and data communications.
    • Proficiency in using telematics diagnostic and configuration tools, as well as related software applications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
    • Ability to work independently and in a field-based environment.
    • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
    • Willingness to travel to customer sites on a regular basis.
