    Are you a Social Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting challenge in an Integrated Mental Health Team? If so, please apply.

    The Newham Community Integrated Mental Health Service has been established as part of the transformation of mental health services and supports closer working across all parts of the network, including specialist mental health services, GP practices, local authorities and voluntary sector partner agencies. It consists of six Primary Care Networks aligned with GP Networks and focuses on meeting the needs of residents with mental health needs and complex emotional needs via assessment, targeted meaningful interventions and supporting them to engage with relevant local resources.

  • Social Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist
  • Evidence of regular up-dating in practice
  • Desirable criteria

  • Leadership training
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Experience of Clinical Leadership
  • Well-developed and suitable experience of working as a qualified RMN in adult community mental health services.
  • Experience of providing mentoring and supervision to junior staff and students on placement.
  • Suitable experience of working in a community mental health setting.
  • Experience of completing full psycho-social assessments and writing reports.
  • Experience of leading meaningful interventions
  • Experience of community building and exploring population health needs
  • Experience of providing clinical leadership/ management at band 6 level or above.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience of providing appraisal, supervision and support to junior staff
  • Experience of leading and managing change
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural, inner city area.
  • Knowledge and Skills

    Essential criteria

  • The current legislation relating to Mental Health provision
  • Current models of working with people with serious mental health problems including psycho-social and recovery approaches
  • Psychiatric problems and the social, psychological and political dimensions of mental ill-health
  • Current models of working with people with serious mental health problems including psycho-social and recovery approaches.
  • Current research and how this can inform practice.
  • The major current issues in relevant health and social care.
  • To engage with adults with serious mental health problems in a holistic manner. To assess their needs, design and deliver appropriate interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of the process.
  • To communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • To work effectively as part of a Team and facilitate productive working relationships.
  • To manage time, be self-motivated and to work both independently and as part of a team as required.
  • To use supervision positively and effectively.
  • To liaise effectively with other agencies, statutory and non-statutory
  • To teach and supervise junior staff and students
  • Ability to maintain focus while working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to make quick clinical decisions on patient care while on duty.

  • Word-processing/Computer skills
  • Ability to screen referrals autonomously based on set criteria
