Exciting opportunities have arisen for Staff Nurses to join our Colorectal and General Surgical Elective Ward F12. As a team we offer support, both physically and mentally to all our patients from diagnosis, transitional from surgery and continually throughout their treatment plan. The acute setting can sometimes be very challenging, but is very rewarding.
Ward F12 is a fast paced working environment which gives staff the opportunity to use multiple transferable skills to provide the highest level of care to our patients.
Working on F12 will give you the opportunity to work along side multiple disciplinary specialists. F12 provides amazing learning opportunities and provide staff nurses with the skills to care for acutely unwell patients.
As the Healthier Together plans continue across Greater Manchester the Oldham Care Organisation is planned to play a crucial role and the Royal Oldham Hospital has been identified as a red/hub hospital for the area.Recently the Royal Oldham has received encouraging feedback from the CQC recognising the good level of care provided by our teams across the care organisation and an overall general improvement in areas of safety and leadership.
The division of surgeryhas recently embarked on some new and exciting changes by commencing an improvement programme focusing on the deteriorating patient.
Main duties of the job
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU A wealth of knowledge and experience anthe acute surgicalsetting which allows individuals to develop and expand on clinical opportunities to remain continually up-to-date with mandatory training and allow staff to develop by completing any extra training to expand their knowledge and clinical skills ie; Mentorship, Acute Illness Management (AIM), and Enhanced Recovery Programme (ERP).We believe undertaking continuous professional development is a key element of developing staff capabilities.Continually support staff to 'raise the bar' on quality to actively take part in changes and developments to benefit the ward and patient care.Deliver strong clear leadership to ensure that all staff are well led and remain motivated.Develop clinical skills in relation to caring for acutely unwell patients working closely with the 'Outreach' offer continual support and guidance with our excellent preceptorship and training programme. Link nurse opportunities whilst offering flexible working.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
