    Description
    PLANNING MANAGER (DEVELOPMENT CONTROL)
    includes permanent Market Supplement of £7000 annually, an essential car user allowance of £1,239 annually and 17.2% employer pension contribution

    Working at the heart of East Cambridgeshire District Council in the beautiful cathedral city of Ely, this is a superb career opportunity for an astute, forward-thinking planning manager with a demonstrable track record of success.

    We're looking for an individual with the ambition and drive to shape the planning department.

    You'll be joining us at a pivotal time as we embrace the latest technology to transform this already excellent service into one that is digital first, customer-focused and efficient.

    A role which seamlessly meets the demands of rapid housing and commercial growth, responds to the dynamic macro planning environment, navigates government policy changes, and meets the objectives of our Corporate Plan.

    We're committed to the delivery of key strategic sites which provide new and affordable homes, commercial premises and supporting infrastructure.

    We have consistently demonstrated a healthy land supply and are about to commence work on a new future focused Local Plan.

    To be a success in this role you'll have a degree or its equivalent in Town and Country Planning or a related subject, full RTPI membership, and good working knowledge of planning processes and regulations.

    Capable of reading and interpreting plans and technical or legal documents, you'll have excellent digital skills and be able to lead through example.
