- Provide an effective and efficient administrative support service to the business area to meet demand and ensure key products and services are delivered in a timely manner.
- Provide a professional telephone and reception service on behalf of the business area, responding to inbound calls and arriving visitors, giving assistance, and redirecting where applicable, ensuring that high levels of professionalism and customer focus are always maintained.
- Process all relevant documentation, including that relating to overseas visitor registration and road traffic files, liaising with internal and external customers via telephone and/or e-mail when required. This will include inputting and extracting information from relevant force systems.
- Quality assure documentation to ensure it meets the required standards, reporting any issues to the relevant officers/staff/partners where necessary. This includes payroll, road traffic and overseas visitor documentation.
- Create and maintain filing systems, undertaking general filing and carry out culling of all files to ensure that the Records Management Procedure is adhered to correctly.
- Monitor and assess the use of stationery and consumables to ensure supplies of goods are available and orders processed. Undertake stock checks to ensure that adequate supplies of stationery and goods are available. Process orders, goods receipt notes and invoices, ensuring accuracy of coding and authorisation using the force system in order that a prompt and efficient system is maintained. As appropriate, liaise with Procurement and/or suppliers to ensure goods and services are received within the required timescales.
- Arrange meetings, including booking rooms, arranging car parking spaces and refreshments to ensure an efficient service is provided.
- Arrange travel, accommodation and vehicle hire in accordance with force policy, as and when required.
- Process all payroll documentation on behalf of the portfolio for onward transmission to payroll supplier.
- Assist with general office duties at the discretion of supervision and in the absence of other staff members in order to enable the provision of an efficient service.
- Undertake all responsibilities relating to information management, data quality, information sharing, intelligence and information security in accordance with the ACPO Guidance on the Management of Police Information in order to achieve compliance with the Statutory Code of Practice.

Good Morning, we are pleased to be recruiting for a Clerical Officer to join Merseyside Police at their Rosehill HQ, Liverpool.
This is an office-based role, temporary until March 2025. You would be working office hours at 36.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The rate is £12.01 per hour.
Due to Police Criteria, please do not apply for this position if you have lived in the UK for less that 3 years from the date of application. Anything less that 3 years will not be considered.
