The Community School of Auchterarder
We have a great opportunity for a passionate Principal Teacher of Guidance to join our team on a temporary basis. The role is part-time, and the specific working schedule will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Important to highlight that this is a fixed-term position from August 12, 2024, to August 10, 2025.
The selected candidate will collaborate closely with our support team. They will manage a pastoral caseload and implement targeted interventions to enhance attendance, well-being, and academic performance. Building strong relationships with students, parents, school staff, local authorities, and external partners is a key aspect of this role.
As a guidance teacher, you will also be responsible for teaching Personal, Social, and Health Education classes.
In addition to upholding the school's values and culture, the successful applicant will become an integral part of our support team, prioritizing the needs of each child and embracing GIRFEC principles.
This role also provides an opportunity to join the extended leadership team at the Community School of Auchterarder, contributing to our vision and overall school enhancement efforts.

The Community School of Auchterarder offers education from Nursery to Secondary levels, catering to Auchterarder and the surrounding area. With approximately 1,100 students across all segments, the school is located in a rural setting about 14 miles south of Perth, providing good transportation connections to Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools include Aberuthven, Blackford, and Dunning.
