Our Client:
Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector.
They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.
The Role:
You will work independently to provide planning audit and advice services at governance level for projects to help ensure that programme plans are achievable but challenging, are accurately monitored and updated and be the driving force in continuous improvement and development of the planning function within the business.
In addition, provide planning representation and leadership for the Planning Department at governance meetings when requested.Ability to manage the planning services across a number of business units and provide the specific planning function for business unit programme of work
Understanding of the multi-disciplined roles involved within an integrated programme such as design, construction, commissioning, interface with 3rd party others and framework partners
Knowledge of planning systems. (Primavera – essential), (Microsoft Project -preferable)
Provide programme management for a programme of work comprising of a number of individual projects and programmes (batches) combined to form a portfolio of work.
Collaborate to determine the best fit for the projects within the programme for cost, revenue, and time, identifying and evaluating any potential efficiencies within the programme of work i.e.
geographical, process type or repeatabilityMonitor performance against plans and identifying problem areas and other effects
Minimise company risk by identifying the critical path within the whole programme of work and the individual contracts
Provide resource planning and levelling by appropriate resource analysis of activity to ensure the best fit for the projects within the overall portfolio.
Actively develop planning Key Performance Indicators and benchmarking metrics to improve project control and performanceAssist with minimising project and sub programme out turn costs.
Willingness for continuously Professional Development.
Extensive planning experience.
Possess sound understanding of planning skills and programming.
