    About the Role:

    As a core member of our Executive Team, you'll spearhead organisational development initiatives to uphold the values, mission, and strategic vision of the hospice. Your leadership will shape the internal operations, ensuring seamless delivery of essential services that sustain our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
    1. Providing strategic direction and leadership for all HR matters, including workforce redesign, recruitment, retention, and development of staff and volunteers.
    2. Overseeing estate, health & safety matters to ensure compliance with regulations, effective maintenance, and minimizing environmental impact.
    3. Leading digital transformation initiatives to maximize digital opportunities while maintaining optimal security.
    4. Providing strategic direction for the catering department to ensure high-quality service delivery.
    5. Ensuring governance, risk, and safety standards are met across all internal operations.

    Role Requirements:

    • Strategy: Work alongside other members of the Executive Team and departmental managers to lead the development, implementation, and review of hospice strategic objectives.
    • Leadership: Provide strategic and inspirational leadership, maximizing effective collaboration and partnership working within the hospice and wider sector.
    • Human Resources: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all HR matters, including workforce redesign, recruitment, retention, and staff development. Oversee NHS and other service contracts and agreements.
    • Estates, Health & Safety: Provide strategic direction and leadership for estate, health & safety matters, ensuring compliance, effective maintenance, and value for money in service delivery.
    • Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation initiatives, maximizing digital opportunities while maintaining optimal security of assets.
    • Catering: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Catering Department to ensure high-quality service delivery.
    • Quality, Standards, Governance & Safety: Provide strategic direction, leadership, and accountability for governance and risk, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice across all internal operations.
    • Finance: Take part in the annual budget setting process and oversee the People & Operations budget.
    • Continuous Self-Development: Maintain high professional standards, keep abreast of relevant issues, and identify training needs for personal and professional development.
    • Hospice Philosophy: Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the Hospice, including compassion, accessibility, respect, and excellence. Engage in critical thinking and maintain confidentiality at all times.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Hold a degree-level qualification in an appropriate discipline.
    • MCIPD qualified (level 7), or working towards this.
    • Full, chartered member or chartered fellow of MCIPD/FCIPD.
    • Experience within the charities/not for profit sectors.
