    Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team in Alfreton. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving their health and safety standards within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing best practices to promote a safe working environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and systems.
    2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    3. Provide support and guidance to employees on health and safety matters, including training programs and toolbox talks.
    4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    5. Collaborate with department managers to address health and safety concerns and promote a culture of safety awareness.
    6. Maintain records of health and safety activities, including incident reports, risk assessments, and training records.
    7. Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices, and ensure compliance with ISO Management Systems.
    8. Participate in health and safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    Requirements:

    1. Proven experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
    2. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations, including ISO Management Systems.
    3. NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
    4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
    5. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach.
    7. Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
