Join our Regional Civils team as an Environmental Sustainability Manager for the Southern Region and you'll be part of our legacy.
This role will be hybrid based and will involve travel to sites across the South of England. There is some opportunity for home working in line with Balfour Beatty's smart working policy.Balfour Beatty Regional Civils are a multi-award-winning business providing a range of Civils Engineering services throughout the United Kingdom.

You will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the contractual environment and sustainability requirements, continual improvement and best practice for the Regional Civils Southern Region projects.
Support compliance with related requirementsWaste and carbon reductions
Implementation of sustainability solutions
Delivery of employment, diversity and apprenticeship targets
Support compliance with environmental legislation
Sustainability data management and analysis.
As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:
Driving sustainability requirements and compliance
Progressing performance assurance
Ensuring the sustainability implementation plan remains up to date
Updating customer on our sustainability commitments
Leading on sustainability initiatives and presenting these
Inducting staff on sustainability requirements
Attending regular sustainability meetings
Supporting investigations on environmental incidents and feedback any lessons learned
Utilising the findings from reporting data, assessments, external and internal audits to drive sustainability action plans and inform key business decisions
Identifying risks and opportunities for the business
Support winning business teams with environment and sustainability, responses for bids and PQQs
A degree (or equivalent) in an Environmental topic or Civil Engineering
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
Competence in environmental incident investigation
Understanding of UK policy, environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks
Understanding and practical experience of project Environmental Sustainability risks and opportunities and how they practically impact on the built environment
Practical experience of Environmental Management and/or Sustainability in construction
Experience in identifying innovation and developing case studies to promote project successes
