- To act as the Infection Prevention Control (IPC)lead
- To ensure all clinical rooms are monitored and adequate to provide clinical care

- If a prescriber, to prescribe medication forpatients in accordance with PGDs and own scope of practice.
- The provision of travel medicineservices, where required.
- To request pathology services and processresults.

- Cervical cytology testing.

- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stocklevels.
- To administer B12 and Zoladex injections.
- Ability to perform cardio-pulmonaryresuscitation

- Registered Nurse (NMC), membership of the RCN
- Mentor or teaching qualification, post graduate diploma or degree (Chronic Disease Management), nurse prescriber, family planning qualification

- Venepuncture, new patient checks, requesting pathology tests and processing results, understanding the importance of evidence-based practice, understanding the requirement for PGDs and associated policy, ability to record accurate clinical notes, ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs, cervical cytology, immunisations (routine, childhood and travel), chronic disease management, broad knowledge of clinical governance, knowledge of health promotion strategies

Job summary
We are looking for an innovative Practice Nurse to join ourfriendly, hardworking and forward-thinking team. This role is responsible for theimplementation of processes for the effective management of patients withlong-term conditions using evidence-based practice including care for elderlyand housebound patients.
Working as a senior member of the practice multidisciplinaryteam, the post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively tothe entitled patient population.
The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number ofclinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion,chronic disease management, as well as actively supporting the practicemanagement team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.
