An exciting opportunity has arisen for a challenging but incredibly rewarding role to join Ash Villa, a 15 bedded female acute treatment ward for adults experiencing acute mental health.
The ward which operates over a 24-hour period, is for working age service users who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties following where possible an assessment and treatment plan prior to transfer from our acute ward colleagues in Lincoln and Boston.
As Ward Manager, you need to demonstrate strong performance leadership skills in the day-to-day management of the ward.Being kind, curious, creative, self-aware and assertive are important skills that you will build on, as you are often required to think outside the box with the Trust Vision and Values at the core of patient care.
With responsibility for clinical and financial KPIs, you will work with the Multidisciplinary Team which promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team.

Practice Accountable for all nursing practice and can demonstrate involvement of user/carer in practice within their immediate practice setting.
Frequently critique the nursing intervention of the team against latest evidence to assess where improvements could be made. Regularly assist in the evaluation of health and social outcomes of clients treated within their team.Leadership Accepts overall management responsibility for the delivery of high quality, effective treatment and care within their area of responsibility.
Instigate, lead, implement and evaluate local quality improvement programmes. Practice Development and Research Construct a local service delivery plan in association with other professional groups/stakeholders. Establish a clearly defined support structure for team members to implement agreed local practice development action plans.Actively lead in practice and service development at a local level within the wider context of health and social care improvement.
Give a professional nursing perspective on service delivery. Oversee local practice development projects. Identify areas of nursing practice for further research. Formulate existing research and evidence into proposals for improving the quality of care provided by the team i.e. NICE Establish a system in which local networks and stakeholders actively contribute to ongoing evaluation of service delivery.Education, Training and Personal Development Implement a range of different models of learning. Effectively contribute to the training needs analysis of the nursing team reflecting the team ability to deliver operational/service objectives. Monitor and support the roles of all nurses undertaking a mentor role in accordance with the assessment and learning in practice standard (NMC) and provide a suitable learning environment for all learners
Degree in mental health and social care or equivalent: 1st Level Registration (NMC,HPC)
Evidence of specialised continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice
Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership
Post-Registration experience of working with adults with mental health needs.
Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health
Sound knowledge of clinical / risk assessment and understanding of confidentiality.
Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Care Programme Approach
Prioritisation and resource allocation, planning and organisation skills.
IT skills- email, word processing excel, system use
Analyse and interpret data/or information
