    The Opportunity

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the comms managers and support on the production of weekly press coverage highlights and quarterly market-intelligence report for senior stakeholders
  • Track firm's press coverage, including keeping up-to-date a spread sheet of press coverage highlights, specific hot topics and subjects of interest
  • Support the team to create annual media coverage analysis reports
  • Alert the Communications team to any award submission deadlines and coordinate/support the submission process
  • Work with the relevant BD Teams to book and arrange awards tables and tickets
  • Support on liaison with suppliers, including media-monitoring agency and media database; process invoices
  • Support Comms team members on briefing notes, key talking points and hymn sheets for the partners
  • Support the team on ad hoc projects as required
  • Manage image and information requests from the media
  • Monitor the HSF Press Office Twitter page
  • Work with the comms managers to promote firm announcements and positive coverage via social media
  • Provide general administrative support, such as arranging media-training sessions for partners and relevant staff
  • Support the Internal Comms managers with projects and campaigns
  • Research and write first drafts of internal news stories, talking points/scripts for leadership videos, etc
  • Upload news stories to global intranet; where required, lay out feature stories with photos/graphics to enhance visual appeal and readability
  • Assist channels manager as required with roll-out of new intranet (eg with cut-over to new system)
  • Manage logistics for internal comms events such as town halls (eg help set up sessions, book AV support, ensure slide decks provided, etc)
  • Run user analytics and create reports on intranet and Yammer usage
  • Update information pages on intranet

  • A commitment to a career in communications
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with an intranet/SharePoint content-management system
  • Able to translate the firm's business strategy into easy-to-understand language to communicate in a clear and meaningful way
  • A basic grasp of the UK and global media environments
  • A basic understanding of the legal sector and related PR opportunities
  • Excellent judgement, discretion, responsiveness, and initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to create good relationships with different teams in the firm
  • Results-oriented. with the ability to effectively prioritise and balance competing demands
  • Strong planning and organisational skills – adapts plans and reprioritises to meet changes in need
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally a bachelor's degree in a related marketing, communications or journalism discipline desired (but not essential)
  • a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or,
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience.
