    Employer St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Location Tooting Salary £93,666 to £126,281 a year Pro Rata - Job is for 0.The Department of Paediatric Dentistry at St George's Hospital is seeking a part time 6 PAs Consultant Paediatric Dentist to join our progressive, collaborative dental team.

    6 WTE post and is subject to the Terms and Conditions of service governing the appointment of Hospital Medical and Dental Staff in England and Wales, or as subsequently varied by agreement.

    The priority of the role is to develop and expand the paediatric dental services for St George's Hospital.

    Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC, on the GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry, possess FDS/ MFDS or equivalent.

    They must be accredited or be within 6 months of such accreditation at interview stage and have completed a SAC approved training programme.

    The outpatient service runs in tandem with a well established and highly regarded orthodontic department, facilitating multidisciplinary working.

    Assessment and treatment under local anaesthetic and inhalation sedation is provided with access to a dedicated, experienced sedation trained paediatric dental therapist.

    The service has been involved in the trial of a nitrous oxide destruction unit to reduce nitrous oxide waste emissions as part of the hospital's zero net strategy.

    The department has its own portable xray machine and dental microscope.

    The team has an excellent working relationship with paediatric anaesthetic, surgical and medical colleagues across the trust and beyond, collaborating for joint cases where possible.

    The Department of Paediatric Dentistry is located on the second floor of the Day Surgery and Maxillofacial Unit on the Perimeter Road at St.

    George's Hospital.

    It provides an excellent specialist service and supports dental core trainees and registrars both within the speciality and from affiliated specialities.

    The team works closely with the orthodontic team, restorative dentistry team and the oral & maxillofacial team to provide a high quality efficient service for its patients.

    High level skills and experience in specialist care for patients including under GA, conscious sedation and paediatric dental trauma.

    Experience in the multidisciplinary management of Paediatric patients.
    Experience in Community Dental Service settings.
    Clinical leadership experience in Paediatric Dentistry.
    Ability to critically appraise scientific literature.
    Audit and service evaluation relevant to Paediatric Dentistry. Research relevant to Paediatric Dentistry.
    Experience of management in a Paediatric Dentistry service.
    Full registration with the UK General Dental Council and on the GDC Specialist List in Paediatric Dentistry.
    Possession of a CCST in Paediatric Dentistry (or within 6 months of completion) or equivalent.
    Membership in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent Possession of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent.
    Other Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric dentistry, teaching or conscious sedation(e.g. Demonstrates clarity in all communication with capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation.
    IT skills including Microsoft Office and Dental Patient Admin Systems.
