    Since its founding in 1937, Krispy Kreme's focus has remained the same - making fresh doughnuts using our founder's original recipe. The brand's iconic Hot Light lets consumers know when doughnuts are being made in the shop so they can stop in and enjoy them hot, right off the line.

    The Director of International Development assumes the responsibility of the Business Development and the franchise management of our JV partners. The Director supports the effort to create a best-in-class franchise system by assisting with the strategic planning for the Krispy Kreme brand, facilitation of M&A Transaction and growing the brand footprint through Development Agreements with new and existing franchisees. This includes managing day-to-day franchising cases, facilitating M&A transactions between franchisees, sourcing new franchisees, building a bench of potential future franchisees and structuring and negotiating multi-year development agreements. This role leads the financial modeling, diligence and internal approval process, transaction negotiation and creation of effective marketing resources to increase franchisee interest. They work with the global teams based in Charlotte and our JV partners in France, Spain and Brazil to ensure that day to day operations are executed as per the brand standards. The candidate will also be responsible for creating the strategic plan for the market and ensuring the team is successfully executing against the plan.

    A TASTE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    Business Development:

    • Work closely with business unit leaders in developing and executing development and expansion strategy for long-term growth of the Krispy Kreme brand
    • Market the expansion opportunity externally and attract the highest quality prospective franchisees
    • Build and lead financial models, outputs and scenarios for diligence and deal structuring
    • Conduct due diligence on prospective franchisees, including in-person Discovery Days with prospective franchisees
    • Negotiation of development agreements with prospective franchisees
    • Liaise between Development, Franchising and Field teams to gather necessary insights to drive negotiations
    • Develop and deliver presentations both internally and externally to executive level leadership

    JV Management:

    • Create strategic plan for each JV partner that is aligned to the brand strategic framework and work collaboratively with the partner to drive the execution of the plan
    • Support on the implementation of critical business levers such as home delivery and DFD
    • Responsible for the project management of the new unit pipeline, identify critical milestones and deliverables and track progress to ensure results
    • Review and approve all new and relocation sites. Track and forecast agreed upon asset actions and timing (new, relocations/rebuilds, and remodels)
    • Pro-actively identify profit improvement levers and define action plans (ie: supply, logistics, labor scheduling, G&A, CAPEX)
    • Work alongside the Global Marketing Team to ensure strong opening campaigns and subsequent LTO promotions.
    • Guide partners through in-depth data analysis and best practices across the globe
    • Provide an operational insight to drive top class results
    • Main points of contact: global function leads, JV partner function heads

    YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
    • Strong communication skills — ability to collaborate with all functions; to build close relationships with internal and external partners of any background; and engage with senior stakeholders
    • Advanced attention to detail, problem-solving and project management skills with analytical capabilities and structured thinking, creating strong decision-making ability
