    As a Senior Devops Engineer you are a key member of the T&I Technology Video Back Office Platforms Development Team and focus on bringing the Liberty Global media products vision to life. You are involved in full development lifecycle of the microservices platforms from architecture, design and reliability engineering to deployment, monitoring and integration. We are looking for comprehensive experience in building and production support on engineering level of various high availability distributed systems.

    This is a key role for the Entertainment Backoffice platform development. Dedicated development teams build and release through their technology delivery and operations lifecycle. In that process they lean heavily on microservices platforms which provide frameworks for timely delivery of technically ready products and services that can be taken to market in countries across Liberty Global's footprint.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Design, setup & maintenance of the core infrastructure that runs our online business
    • Actively participate in planning and management of platform development process
    • Lead continuous delivery and integration pipeline infrastructure development
    • Supporting the whole platform, using technical analysis to improve the reliability and scalability of the whole system
    • Working closely with the developers to create solutions to deploy and monitor their applications.
    • Regularly checking the monitor alarms, diagnosing the symptoms, analyzing the root causes and making preventive plans
    • Write clean, well-structured and maintainable code when needed
    • Explore new latest relevant technology, techniques, frameworks, tools, methodologies and processes

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

    • University degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Computer Science, Science, Mathematics or equivalent or be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge
    • At least fluent spoken and written English – ideally other European languages

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • 4+ years of experience in working with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu or similar)
    • Hands-on scripting and coding experience in working with Python, Ruby, Shell Scripting or similar
    • C++, Java, and GoLang experience is a big plus
    • Extensive network knowledge about TCP/IP protocol suites, network security, and experience with tools like Wireshark/tcpdump, mitmproxy, dig, curl or similar
    • Production experience and understanding of cluster management systems like Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Mesos
    • Experience with web and proxy servers, i.e., Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, Varnish, Squid or similar
    • Practical knowledge in virtualization and Linux containers, i.e., KVM, Docker, CoreOS rkt or similar
    • Proven experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Ansible, Chef, OpsWorks, Puppet or similar
    • Knowledge of automated deployment/continuous Integration tools, i.e., Maven, Jenkins, Fabric8 or similar
    • Experience with commercial or open source monitoring systems, i.e., Nagios, Zabbix, Open Falcon or similar
    • Knowledge of Elastic solutions (Elastic, Kibana, Logstash) and monitor data collection tools is a big plus
    • General knowledge of software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, Agile development, build processes, testing, and operations
    • Experience with data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Riak and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
    • Effective communication skills, ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment within sometimes tight deadlines is a big plus
