    Overview of role

    Location: Liverpool Hotplate

    The role of the Shift Maintenance Engineer is a varied and challenging one and the ideal candidate will be able to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with a major bakery.

    This is a shift-based role working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights).

    Key Accountabilities

  • To provide engineering resource in carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements and modification or upgrade to plant and services in order to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment in the best possible condition.
  • To strive towards continuous improvement of all machinery and equipment in order to effectively reduce engineering downtime, thereby maintaining plant availability, efficiency, productivity and product quality.
  • To carry out all engineering work to high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygienic standards.
  • Deliver turn-key improvement projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

    • Plus, any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role. The above list of accountabilities is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake duties as may be reasonably expected.

    The Right Person

    We are looking for a fully qualified (time served) Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with industry experience, ideally with welding and fabrication skills as well. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in FMCG environment, ideally food sector.
  • Have excellent analytical skills and be PC literate.
  • Have basic food hygiene experience.
  • Be a team player and have excellent communication skills.
  • Be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for continuous improvement.
