    Services Solution Architect

    UK&I (Remote/Hybrid)

    The role in a nutshell

    Once onboarded, you will function as a core member of the UK and Ireland Services Solution Architect (SSA) team, becoming a trusted advisor internally to sales and delivery teams. You will create customer-facing deliverables describing services proposals and digital transformation roadmaps helping them achieve successful business outcomes. From this point onwards, you will aim to solidify your technical and soft skills via the learning platforms made available to you.

    You will also work closely with account teams in solving complex customer business problems by crafting outcomes-focused transformational designs, and adoption guides to existing customers, maximizing their use and adoption of our client's products and services return. During your career as a SSA, you will gain significant cross-industry experience and be expected to apply your problem-solving capabilities to drive successful business outcomes for our customers.

    As a Services Solution Architect, you will find that no two days are the same You will interact externally with customers from different lines of business across a variety of industries with a multitude of different requirements. Internally you will work with colleagues across the business from salespeople to delivery experts to highly skilled engineers and your peers. Your creativity coupled with your active listening and analytical skills will be key to positioning and selling the best services solutions to provide desired business outcomes and maximum value for our customers.

    What success looks like in the first 6-12 months

    The primary objective of a Services Solution Architect (SSA) is to support uor client's sales activities by engaging with customers at various levels, building trusted relationships and discovering customer needs that can be met by our client's comprehensive services. You will work to develop a package of Professional Services that help the customer to meet their objectives and to maximise the value of their investment.

    As a SSA you will integrate with the EMEA Services Solution Architect community & learn how the Professional Services team operates to deliver high-quality and effective solutions for our customers. You will meet the wider team, build relationships, and start leveraging your knowledge and ideas in building solid approaches that will bring customers success.

    What type of work will you be doing?

    • You will be working directly with customers to actively listen, understand, challenge, and help to understand their business requirements.
    • You will be proposing services that not only deliver technology change but also take into consideration people and processes.
    • You will present, communicate, and validate your proposed solutions to our account teams and our customers using presentations, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, proposals, etc.
    • You will support sales teams in building commercial proposals by developing sound and quantifiable technical solutions and content.
    • You will ensure a smooth handover to our services delivery team providing alignment between sales and delivery to assure customer satisfaction.
    • You will act as a key contributor to account strategy and planning and align this with business unit strategies.
    • You will provide feedback to Professional Services Engineering regarding current service offerings along with generating new ideas for new offerings based on your knowledge from discussions with customers.
    • You will take ownership of or be an active contributor to initiatives and communities that help share knowledge and drive improvements across the professional services organisation.
    • You will be supported in setting up and achieving personal development goals.
    • You will be expected to travel an average of 30% of the time across UK and Ireland as the business requires.

    What we're looking for

    The following skills and experience will support your suitability to the role. Our client is keen to continue to develop a diverse team with different depths of expertise and knowledge.

    • Experience of leading large transformation projects so the candidate has an appreciation of the associated customer challenges, People, Process and Technology.
    • A broad understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation platform
    • Experience with designing cloud datacenters and/or migrations for multiple complex customers is desirable.
    • An understanding of modern applications and associated platform requirements is desirable.
    • Experience of working with senior customer stakeholders to discover and align to business goals and articulate value that can be derived from solutions.

    The UK PS technical presales team is newly formed and it is an exciting time to join as we shape the team to drive maximum value to the business and develop trusted relationships with our customers. It is a small and dynamic team ranging from former Delivery Architects and Consultants and Pre-Sales Engineers to recent university graduates. The team is continuously working to improve how they support customers with each team member bringing passion, innovation, and fresh thinking.
