    Grade 6 - £49,498 - £61,269 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

    Working 36.5 hours per week

    Are you a Service Delivery Manager from a Waste/ Recycling background looking for the next exciting step in your career?

    At Birmingham City Council we provide some of the most important front-line services to our residents through our Refuse Collection Teams. Domestic waste, Recycling, commercial and garden waste collections are part of the core functions at the very heart of our community.

    We now have a unique career opportunity for an individual with the right credentials to lead these core waste service areas and ensure that the very high standards of service and excellence that our residents rightly demand and deserve are delivered.

    As a service function that impacts every household and resident within the district, this is naturally a challenging and demanding role. It is also a very rewarding role that allows the right individual an opportunity to bring their leadership skills and expertise to visibly develop and enhance this critical part of the operation that impacts all the residents in our area.

    The right individual will have strong waste operational management skills and experience leading a large multi-functional team delivering the very highest standards of public service delivery. They will have a robust & resilient nature together with a can-do attitude and be passionate about driving the whole team to succeed. A confident and motivated individual who can visibly lead from the front. In return the right person will be joining a highly energised and focussed team, who are very clear on their priorities and plans.

    Special conditions of the Role:

    Normal working hours are 36.5 hours per week, 5 day working patterns apply from any 7 days.

    A flexible approach to working hours is required, the post holder may be required to work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post and emergencies dictate.
