    Do you have technical design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Brighton and Hove? Skillsearch is looking for a Lead Technical Designer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

    The Lead Technical Designer manages the Technical Design team and works with programmers to help establish best practices and policies for all Designs across the studio to ensure that we use Unreal Engine in the most performant way. You will design and implement the systems and tools required to make design content quickly, efficiently, and effortlessly.

    In your first few weeks in this Lead Technical Designer role, you can expect to:

    • Implement technically complex design elements directly into the game
    • Collaborate with the Technical Directors on future engine improvements for design, design tools, and systems for design
    • Act as a Power User for all design tools to ensure that they perform adequately and hit the desired outcomes
    • Help establish standards across the team, from scripting to metrics to efficient toolset use

    To apply for this Lead Technical Designer role, you will need excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine Editor. You will also require the following:

    • The ability to script in visual scripting systems and an understanding of C++
    • Leadership skills that include caring about the career growth of those who work for you and around you
    • Excellent creative and technical problem-solving skills

    A little bit about the city: Brighton

    Now known as one of the most sought-after places to live in in the UK, Brighton is certainly a city worth learning about. Often referred to as London-by-the-sea, as well as being under an hour via rail to the capital, these is clearly a lot to Brighton that is highly desirable Thanks to its compact city centre, the best way to manoeuvre Brighton's busy streets is on foot, which is certainly the most interesting way to get around too, making for a beautiful stroll around the famous lanes. As well as the lanes, Brighton is famous for its stunning beach, which is certainly a tourist spot come summertime. You can sit on the pebbles with an ice cream, go for a stroll down the Palace Pier, or even take a swim around the old West Pier, an iconic landmark in the city.

    As well as the landmarks, Brighton is famous for being a hugely welcoming and accepting city, there is no way anyone could feel out of place thanks to its vastly diverse culture, you will find people from all walks of life in this city. Just outside of the city lies the South Downs, with plenty of scenery and wildlife available to explore, highlights include Devils Dyke and Ditchling Beacon, which offer a stunning respite from city life.
