How will you make a difference?
As a Field Support Technician, you will be responsible for delivering on site technical support, as well as implementing technical improvements for the local Field Operations in the UK and Ireland Region. This position will be based in Inverness.
Whilst no two days are the same, you key responsibilities will revolve around:
You will be responsible for Wind Turbine availability which means physically troubleshooting turbines with low availability on site in various wind farms as well as analysing data and other information to be able to create and support implementing action plans that will increase availability in the fleet. These include but are not limited to: on site performance analysis, on site action plan implementation, Analysing data, analysing reports, close cooperation with Technicians and Back Office staff, performing on the job demonstrations, on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines, on site software and hardware updates, on line and on phone technical support, creating reports on turbine or turbine components and also parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary. The Field Support Technician will also go to site in case special works are being performed to physically support the local technicians, especially on farms that are in or are at risk of being in LD's (liquidate damages).
To succeed you will have the following:
Experience – Demonstrate experience as a technician working in the wind industry, with proven experience in planning and executing large works from start to finish and troubleshooting wind turbines.
Adaptability – You will have the ability to work in an environment of continuous change and different challenges. With a positive attitude and willingness to learn, lead, and improve.
System Savy – You are computer literate and confident in using MS office, in hour databased and workload management systems, bonus points if you have used SAP
Working at heights – This role involves working at heights, up to 100m. You will need to be fit and health and pass a working at height test
Analytical Mindset – You will show you are experienced in using data to analyse faults and trends, and demonstrate you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.
Supportive – Proven experience in providing technical support and instruction on site and by phone.
Flexibility - Flexible in working time and area with a willingness to travel regularly including nights away from home.
Team Focused - Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with your colleagues on group projects or team goals.
Driving Licence – You must have a full EU driving license for this role.

What are the working hours
Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm) Overtime is paid at time and a half. The Field Support role requires regular travel to different sites and staying away from home through the week.
