Risk Solutions Actuarial Analyst - Greater London, United Kingdom - The Actuary Group
Description
The Actuary Group is actively seeking ambitious and high-potential actuaries to join a growing and innovative Risk Solutions advisory team. Our client is a leading pensions consultancy with an impressive track record in advising trustees and corporate sponsors on a wide range of issues, including over £50 billion of pension risk transfer transactions, such as the UK's largest ever single buy-in or buyout transaction by both premium size and number of members.
As this record-breaking transaction has set the precedent for their business success in 2024, our client is now looking to expand their Risk Solutions team, offering a unique opportunity to accelerate your career in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by gaining exposure to diverse clients and making a real impact as an integral team member from day one.
About the role
This Risk Solutions Actuarial Analyst will play an integral role in building out and delivering our client's risk solutions client offerings across buy-in and buyout, alternative de-risking solutions and their counterparty assessment business lines. The flat corporate structure means you will have the opportunity to be involved in critical conversations and decisions offering your input, spanning the practice areas. You could be advising on market pricing for a buy-in on one day and analysing portfolio allocations in a capital-backed journey plan with our investment experts the next.
As an Analyst, you will take responsibility for conducting financial and actuarial analysis for a portfolio of clients, working as a team to advise them through project-based work. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of your projects and clients. Your clients will likely vary in size and sector, from large international listed corporations and their subsidiaries right through to small not-for-profit organisations.
Key responsibilities will include:
High-level actuarial calculations to piece together key details of a pension scheme
Assisting in coding up pension scheme benefits to produce cashflows and buyout estimates
Working with other actuaries on setting in-house assumptions through looking at market trends and monitoring accuracy
Your colleagues will come from a variety of backgrounds, which will allow you to draw on a wide range of skills as you conduct analysis and prepare advice. Client team structures are very flat, and you will get the opportunity to work closely with senior management and present your analysis.
You will get interesting and varied exposure and there will likely be the opportunity to work across the wider Advisory team to further diversify your knowledge and skillset.
You'll be given lots of support by the team as you grow and develop within the business.
This is an agile job, with the team typically spending two or three days a week in the office.
Who are we looking for?
This role is perfect for commercially minded actuaries who are interested in broadening their skillset and exposure at a leading, innovative consultancy. Our client is not overly focused on your experience to date, but rather interested in who you are, that you have bags of potential and an eagerness to add lots of value in the years ahead.
