    Description

    mustardFX are teaming up with a world-class digital entertainment company, breaking down barriers in the video game industry. Focusing on "Follow The Sun" Development, our client works on some of the biggest games in the industry Internally and as a Co-Dev Studio.

    Looking for good humans with incredible talent, the studio is looking for a Technical Director of Online Services to lead engineering teams for a number of AAA Game Projects across PC & Consoles. Operating in an Unreal Engine Studio, you'll execute as a leader, ensuring that code quality, reusability, and documentation are always prioritized.

    Job Title - Technical Director (Online Services)

    Location - US/ Canada (Fully Remote)

    Responsibilities:

    • Leading a team of dedicated engineers, creating and supporting online/backend game services
    • Expertise in multiple game engines, backend game architectures (P2P, dedicated servers, authentication, entitlements, etc.), and how they relate to system design
    • Understanding the differences and similarities between supported game platforms (Steam, EGS, Playstation, Xbox, etc.)
    • Driving ongoing performance evaluation and optimization on supported game platforms for both customer projects as well as TLM's internal tech.
    • Working closely with other team leads as well as customers on technical goals, features and development.
    • As a leader, ensuring that code quality, reusability and documentation are always prioritized.
    • Owning the customer facing relationship for your engineering team.

    Experience/Skills:

    • 10+ years of game development experience, including recent generation consoles
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3+ shipped AAA titles, with at least 2 as a lead/senior/TD
    • Strong understanding of C/C++, performance analysis, optimization and debugging
    • Background with parallel programming and multi-threaded engine systems.
    • Comprehensive understanding of PC and console architecture, memory systems and best practices for cross-platform game development.
    • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
    • Experience with technical design documentation
