    Motor Claims Risk Team Manager

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about managing risk and playing a vital role in driving improvements and processes forward. We are seeking an individual who can work independently and effectively engage with all stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.

    The Risk Manager will oversee risk management related to FCA requirements, conduct, and operational risk, in alignment with Admiral Policies and frameworks. Collaborating closely with other Risk Managers in the Motor Claims Risk team, they will adopt a holistic and practical approach that balances Admiral's commercial needs with a customer-centric culture.

    They will lead and nurture a team (if applicable), overseeing both the team's and their own tasks and projects.

    Main Duties

    • Support, develop, and mentor Risk Executives, actively contributing to supporting Executives in other teams
    • Ensure robust quality control procedures are in place within the team, along with T&C schemes, training plans, and development plans
    • Inspire your team to keep work streams progressing according to deadlines and maintain the expected standards of work output
    • Develop and expand the team following the four pillars and Claims Risk department's objectives, fostering a collaborative and open team spirit
    • Keep all team members updated with training and development opportunities, especially in relation to IDD requirements
    • Advocate for Claims Risk across Claims or EUI departments, supporting stakeholder engagement, risk awareness, and being prepared to offer support and challenge as needed
    • Collaborate with the Motor Claims Risk Management team to take a comprehensive approach to risk management across EUI Claims, ensuring effective communication with other Claims Risk Managers
    • Stay current with industry changes and maintain updated knowledge in all areas of your team's responsibility, regulatory updates, and other team responsibilities within Motor Claims Risk
    • Act as a key contributor to working groups and committees, providing guidance and, if necessary, challenging stakeholders
    • Lead projects or workstreams, offering clear direction and advice to stakeholders to embed risk frameworks and management practices
    • Regularly review priorities and escalate any obstacles, issues, or risks promptly to the Operations Manager/Senior Manager
    • Maintain updated audit trails and evidence of advice provided, procedure guides, and training documents
    • Utilize quantitative and analytical skills to assess risks across various business processes and departments
    • Produce tailored risk reports for the relevant audiences

    Key Skills, Qualities, and Experience

    • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards Risk management
    • Ability to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality work
    • Familiarity with Risk Management, Compliance practices, and FCA regulations
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities
    • Proactive approach and initiative-driven work ethic
    • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
    • Relevant risk-related qualifications or experience
    • Experience in team management

    The position is located in Cardiff with a Hybrid working model, allowing for a mix of remote and office days. We provide all necessary resources for comfortable remote work.
