IPL is a global leading sustainable packaging solutions provider that manufactures specialty rigid packaging products used in the food, consumer, agricultural, logistics and environmental markets.

We have over 2,500 colleagues in 18 manufacturing facilities, two corporate & sales offices and three R&D facilities across the U.The Engineering Team are looking to fill the role of Engineering Manager in their Wolverhampton facility.

An Engineering Manager is professional and responsible for planning and coordinating projects, supervising the team, and researching new products in the field of engineering.

The Manager will oversee the development and execution of projects, manages budgets, and supervises team over multiple shifts.

They collaborate with other management personnel, provide instructions to engineering teams, and ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.

The Manager will work 07:30am – 16:00pm, Monday to Friday.

If required by the business the Engineering Manager must be flexible to work additional hours to accommodate the business needs and demands.

Weekend working and daily call outs may also be applicable.

Position Title:
Engineering Manager
Recruit, train and develop the Engineering departments.
Lead the department to operate safely through RA, SOP, training and develop in accordance with business requirements.
Management, co-ordination, and supervision of all external contractors in accordance with site policies, audits and legal requirements.
Create and manage Engineering budgets, both capital and operational.
Supervision and monitoring of capital projects, ensuring smooth deliveries of capital equipment installations.
Working closely with Senior Managers to provide recommendations as to capital equipment expenditure and machinery refurbishment.

Produce timely reports covering OEE and performance of the department and team and integrate as part of the CI data review.

Proven experience of managing Engineering and Technical departments.
Personnel and project management skills.
Data analytics skills and experience with attention to detail
Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges.
Organisational, planning, and documentation skills.
Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders.
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
Commercial acumen.
BS in Engineering required. Master's degree or MBA a plus.
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.
Experience using System Applications and Products (SAP) software.
