Description
About the role
We've an amazing new opportunity to become our new Performance and Reporting Lead, reporting into the Governance and Assurance Manager within our Asset Programme Management Office (PMO). We see this role is essential to realising our National Leader ambitions and we're looking for a motivated reporting and assurance professional, with direct experience of working in a fast-paced Programme Office (PMO) environment.
You'll lead the PMO's Performance and Reporting function, managing those responsible for the development of accurate and timely reporting against cost, schedule, environmental targets, and benefits realised, along with providing a supporting assurance function and the necessary challenge to ensure that Northumbrian Water continue to deliver the most effective business solutions.
We're looking for you to own, communicate, and ensure compliance with the defined reporting framework across the Project, Programme, and Portfolio community, including involvement in monthly review meetings in the role of 'critical friend.'
You'll be providing an efficient support and assurance service to the Programme and Project Community, reporting financial and schedule performance, as well as progress against risk, benefits, efficiency, and change. This includes ensuring a clear line of sight and transparency between data sources and upward reporting.
We're also looking for you to manage and support those responsible for data analysis to provide recommendation and insight to capital leadership teams on financial, schedule, risk, and benefits performance information, along with supporting the PMO in influencing delivery through developing and maintaining professional, open, and honest, working relationships across Northumbrian Water.
About you
We're looking for you to have proven experience of providing a high-quality performance reporting function in a project, programme or PMO environment, including a strong understanding of assurance techniques, data analysis, and presentation capability. You'll ideally be qualified to a degree level in an appropriate project, programme, or engineering discipline, e.g., business management, information management, project and programme delivery.
You'll have proven experience of information management techniques and drawing conclusions from data to offer strategic recommendations in support of senior-level choices, including a keen attention to detail and ability to scrutinise or challenge data sets, along with a proven track record of using PowerBI reporting tools to inform choices and project tools to ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality.
We're looking for you to have experience of managing and responding to complex problems in a fast-paced environment, and proven problem-solving capability, along with experience in data transformation, manipulation, and visualisation to effectively communicate findings to a varied audience.
You'll also have proven stakeholder management skills to influence the project and programme community in adopting best practice and manage relationships across varied disciplines and levels, along with experience of taking a lead role or accountability for a business-critical function, preferably leading or developing people to ensure high-quality team performance.
If this sounds like you, then we'd love to see your application come through to us.
Here at Northumbrian Water, we embrace and value Diversity, Inclusion and Equity which means bringing your full self to work. We encourage and welcome all applications, as we believe and strive to be an equal opportunity employer committed in having a diverse community represented within all our teams, structures, and organisation.
About Asset Management & PMO
The Assets Directorate understand the health of our assets, invest wisely and maintain them to continue to provide safe, reliable and resilient services to our customers today and in the future.
We have launched an ambitious transformation programme to drive a real step change in how we deliver our capital projects. This requires the development of a high-performing PMO to provide a central controls function delivering impactful performance reporting, estimating, schedule and risk management, and governance. The overarching objective of the transformation programme is to transition from a hybrid PMO consisting of NWL staff and contractor support, to an entirely inhouse model.
