Aubay is hiring for an exciting position within our Global Energy client's Trading Functions and Data Platforms programme. This is a high-critical business programme within downstream IT trading and supply. The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding of new working capital statements (NWC), P&L, and balance sheets.

In this role, the key responsibilities will include accurately identifying business problems, value drivers, and requirements, encompassing health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations. The candidate, with their unique skills and experience, has the potential to translate these requirements into functional solutions, evaluating risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts. They should also analyse processes, data flows, and technology to pinpoint areas for improvement, making a significant impact on our client's business.

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
Proficiency in interpreting working capital statements, P&L, and balance sheets .
Strong analytical skills to precisely capture business problems and requirements.
Ability to translate business requirements into functional solutions, assessing risks and feasibility.
Experience in modelling processes, data flows, and technology to identify areas for improvement.
Excellent documentation skills to communicate requirements effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to ensure traceability of requirements from inception to implementation.
Collaboration skills to work with software suppliers, designers, and developers to meet business needs.
Experience in configuring and documenting software and processes according to standards.
Knowledge of defining acceptance criteria and coordinating testing processes.
Capability to create compelling business cases to justify solution value and secure approval.
Strong project management skills to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities.
Understand relevant architectures and technologies related to the business area.
Ability to research potential solutions and innovative ideas.
Experience in leading stakeholder management activities and facilitating large design sessions.
Leadership skills to lead teams in completing business analysis on projects.
Strategic thinking to support longer-term business strategic goals through proposing improvements.
Capability to champion the development of long-term Business Analysis capability within the organisation.
Adaptability to respond to organisational and environmental changes.
Strong communication skills to describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers.
Ability to build trust with stakeholders and understand their goals, motivations, and constraints.

Guiding business stakeholders to gain acceptance/sign-off despite competing objectives, necessitating effective communication and negotiation skills to manage expectations and prioritise requirements for maximum impact.
Describing technology in terms easily understood by business customers and setting realistic customer expectations for project outcomes, while also being able to adjust expectations in response to changes in scope or requirements.
Generating innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities, requiring creative thinking and a willingness to explore unconventional solutions.
Working closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

Role Responsibilities

Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements.
Translate business requirements into functionality and assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts.
Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand current value, issues, and identify improvement opportunities.
Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and keep it updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle.
Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs to final solution through testing and scope changes.
Interact with software suppliers, designers, and developers to ensure business requirements and use cases are addressed.
Configure and document software and processes using agreed standards and tools.
Create acceptance criteria and coordinate testing to validate that solutions meet business needs.
Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding, and prioritization.
Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality.
Understand and stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to the business area, and research potential solutions and innovative ideas.
Lead stakeholder management activities including facilitation of large design sessions.
Lead teams to complete business analysis on projects and set the direction for business analysis activities within large programs or strategic initiatives.
Support longer-term business strategic goals through proposing improvements and initiating high-level business requirements and feasibility studies.
Champion the development of long-term Business Analysis capability within the organization through coaching, identifying best practices, and contributing to community building.
