    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer with extensive component/subsystem testing experience to join a well-known defence manufacturer based in Bolton, Greater Manchester

    *Hybrid Working available, with a minimum of 3 Days onsite*

    The main tasks include conducting production test and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and sub-system level

    Your responsibilities:

    • Testing electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, diagnosing production test failures down to component level
    • Creating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on higher-level requirements
    • Providing technical support to test operators for efficient equipment hardware production
    • Identifying remedial actions post test failures promptly to ensure continuous production
    • Addressing test equipment issues, guiding maintenance services for resolutions
    • Evaluating technical problems, proposing investigations and corrective actions for process improvements
    • Representing Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings for effective equipment progress

    Skills/experience needed:

    • Holding HNC/HND (Electronics) qualification or equivalent
    • Essential testing experience down to component level and prior diagnosis of test failures
    • Understanding digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, fault diagnosis techniques
    • Awareness of electrical/electronic system and sub-system integration and test philosophies
    • Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at subsystem level beneficial
    • Experience using manual and automated test equipment in electronics manufacturing
    • Ability to plan and organize work effectively
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for generating test specifications and reports
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
