    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bank Health Visitor to support the Health Visiting Service in British Forces Cyprus. You will be responsible for delivering the Healthy Child Programme to families with children aged 0-5 years; developing, implementing and evaluating health plans in response to identified needs of the individual, family and community; participating in health promotion and public health campaigns; and assisting with the delivery of childhood immunisations.

    You will work collaboratively with the Community Health Team, Primary Care, Social Care, Education and welfare agencies. Furthermore, you will be involved with Early Help Assessments and attend multi-agency meetings.

    About the team

    You will be a member of the SSAFA Community Health Team based in Akrotiri, working alongside Midwives, School Nurses, Community Children's Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, CAMHS, Dietitian, Consultant Community Paediatrician and Community Paediatric Psychiatrist. As a Bank Health Visitor there will be requirement to work in Episkopi and Dhekelia.

    About you

    You must be a Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor). Experience of work within a military environment would be an advantage. You will be able to manage and prioritise a caseload effectively, have good time management skills, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to personal and professional development. You will have a good working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children.

    All SSAFA staff are required to be committed to safeguarding children and adults and to adhere to child protection policies and guidelines in conjunction with Command Local Safeguarding Children's Board procedures.

    A valid driving license and the ability to drive a manual car is essential.

    Please note a relocation package is not included with this role.
