About the Role
The School of Politics and International Relations is seeking an exceptional scholar for the role of Lecturer in Political Theory. We welcome applications from those researching Political Theory in all of its diversity but would particularly welcome applicants with expertise that complements the School's existing research strengths. The role holder will contribute to the development of a new MA in Applied Global Ethics.
About You
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Politics, International Politics, or relevant Social Sciences/Humanities area and a developing reputation for research in political theory. You will have some experience of developing and teaching modules in (international) political theory at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You will have relevant experience of supervising and advising students. You will have an understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in teaching a diverse student cohort. Experience of contributing to citizenship roles in a large, dynamic school is essential.
About the School
The School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK's leading Politics and International Relations departments. It was ranked 7th overall among UK higher education institutions in the 2022 REF. The School has grown rapidly over the past five years and is now home to 60+ academic staff. It has recently expanded to include Sociology as well as Politics and International Relations in its teaching and research. It is home to a highly diverse cohort of students and offers a broad-ranging and methodologically plural curriculum in the fields of Politics and International Relations.
