About the Role:
Purchasing ManagerJoining their dynamic team based in Manchester, UK, you'll take on the role of Purchasing Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be the main person responsible for procurement and assessing suppliers.
With the clients' focus on ensuring the best fees possible, you'll be a figurehead for our client in leveraging their purchasing proficiency and therefore their growth.
Responsibilities· Main person responsible for procurement and assessing suppliers· Managing supplier performance and procuring at the best deal possible, knowing when to seek alternatives· Management of 1 team member· Maintaining a high understanding our clients' products, the market they operate in alongside their competitors' activity.· Engaging in open discourse with both the Purchasing team and company-wide to identify new suppliers· Ensuring product delivery is on-timeRequirements· Comfortable with international travel.· Minimum 3 years' experience of purchasing.
Ideally this would be in an industrial manufacturing or distribution setting.· Commercial experience in both managing imports as well as supply chain audits.· Knowledge of supply chain operations.· Good communication skills· Be accepting to challenge from and to internal line managers alongside external vendors when necessary.
