    Description

    Ensure the actuarial team delivers against all of its regulatory responsibilities and meets designated deadlines

    • Location: London

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage an internal model for the Managing Agency to meet Solvency II requirements. This includes both documentation and model validation of the model
    • Determine how best to optimise reinsurance protections for underwriting portfolios
    • Work closely with underwriters to provide analysis to support reinsurance purchase
    • Liaise with WRBC actuarial team on business planning capital valuations
    • Provide support for production of the Actuarial Function report
    • Develop and train junior Actuarial staff
    • Responsible for providing actuarial support to the business planning process, corporate actuarial team, internal audit function as well as providing input to the Actuarial Function report
    • Knowledge and prior capital modelling experience of the London and Lloyd's market
    • Advanced ReMetrica, Excel and programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
    • Experience in building capital models
    • Ability to interact with the underwriters and management, ability to convince and influence others and the gravitas to operate at all levels in an organisation
    • Self-reliance – to plan, implement and work either on their own or in a team and deliver a multitude of tasks to a timescale
