    About the role

    The Independent Living Scheme (ILS) Officer is responsible for providing the concierge service to residents of sheltered housing schemes, supporting tenants and customers on a daily basis by responding to enquiries, being a presence within scheme and completing regular checks.

    The ILS Officer will work collaboratively with others to meet Cornwall Housing's objectives by:

    • Monitoring the safety and security of older person housing schemes
    • Providing advice & support to customers purchasing support services
    • Installing, monitoring & responding to enquiries from Lifeline customers
    • Ensuring regular monitoring of alarm equipment and completion of communal area checks

    The duties of the role involve travel on a regular basis.

    To be successful, you'll have:

    • An understanding and/ or relevant experience of social housing, and of the issues facing older people.
    • Excellent communication with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to act with tact and diplomacy, being able to remain calm and measured.
    • Experience and competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Excel.

    Our offer to you

    Salary: £23,150 per year pro rata (£12 per hour)

    Working Hours: 24 hours per week over 3 days (with some flexibility as to which days suit you and the service)

    Contract Type: Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025, to cover a secondment

    Base: This role is hybrid working from home, office and in the community, with your primary work location being one of our independent living sites in Falmouth. You will need to be able to travel to our main office in Bodmin for team meetings and training.
