    Software Test Engineer 1

If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Software Test Engineer role within the End-To-End Solutions (e2e) team in Cambridge (UK).

    Responsibilities of the role

  • Work independently in cross-functional teams to deliver the testing effort on multiple applications.
  • Work in a scrum environment with daily standups, bi-weekly demos and sprint planning meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with other software test engineers to automate software test cases within a maintainable test automation environment.
  • Work with software developers, scientists and domain experts in understanding requirements of the software and translating to test cases and automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate with peers to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.

  • Preferred background, skills and experience

  • A technical degree completed such as
  • Maths, Computer science, Physics or Engineering
  • Biology or other scientific disciplines with some programming/scripting modules
  • Knowledge and experience with Java, Python or similar high-level language
  • Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly
  • Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
  • Have proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Discipline to embark on the learning curve to master the technologies underpinning our products
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Desired but not essential

  • Experience with source control management repositories (such as GIT, SVN, etc.)
  • Understanding of object oriented analysis and design
  • Understanding of Genomics, Bioinformatics, or related field of biology
