Consultant in Anaesthesia with an interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia Two substantive Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetists positions have arisen within the department of Anaesthesia based at Barts Health NHS Trust, with the primary site being the Royal London Hospital.
The Department of anaesthesia provides a service for all surgical specialities within Bart's Health and is involved in many exciting initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for dynamic individuals with the appropriate skills to join a first class multi-disciplinary team providing the full range of services to the majority of East London and beyond in a progressive London teaching hospital environment.

Barts Health supports The Pregnancy Loss Pledge and commits to supporting their staff through the distress of miscarriage.CCT in anaesthesia or equivalent or, if in training within 6 months of CCT
Higher training in Paediatric Anaesthesia
Extensive experience in aspects of general and paediatric anaesthesia
At least 1 year advanced specialist training in paediatric anaesthesia including neonatal anaesthesia and trauma in children
Clinical management training
Training for at least 3 months in Paediatric Intensive care
Demonstrated experience in anaesthesia service development
Personal Skills/ Qualities
Ability to communicate clearly and intelligently in written and spoken English
Directing and teaching medical, nursing and other professions allied to anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Teaching & Training
Involvement in teaching undergraduates ,trainee medical staff, nurses and allied health professionals
Keen desire to improve patient care by involvement in a wide range of teaching activities, including simulation training
Familiarity with Stage 1, 2 and 3 FRCA and advanced Paediatric Anaesthesia SIA training
Evidence of training in teaching skills
Experience in paediatric simulation
Actively encourages research with junior and other staff
Commitment to continuing personal development and medical education
