- Develop the Mechanical Design part of the BEV battery technology roadmaps to support JLRs electrification transition
- Consolidate and create benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed
- Work alongside our Engineering Operations team to ensure we have the right Mechanical Design in place to execute the technology roadmap
- Work alongside key business stakeholders to ensure we meet our vehicle product needs
- Develop and cascade a technology roadmap that takes us to the next generation of battery technologies such as solid-state and Mechanical Design-to-car / module-to-car concepts
- Contribution to and implementation of Mechanical Design Road Map
- Designs released to meet cost, quality, targets & attributes
- Design release packages are frozen on time to achieve the agreed Start of Production (SOP)
- Experience of the multi-physics nature of Mechanical Design and battery design and integration
- Experience within the competitor Mechanical Design and battery manufacturing industry
- An ability to communicate a technical concept and strategy vision to the wider vehicle and Power Train electrification teams to drive toward a single optimised roadmap
- Ability to help build and lead a winning team in the field of Mechanical Design / battery pack future strategies and research
- Good communication skills
- Degree or relevant equivalent experience
- Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environment
- Knowledge of the BEV Mechanical Design and battery landscape across the worldwide supply base or other OEM manufacturers to allow credible and competitive concepts and strategies to be followed

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Battery realm.
The battery team is one of the fastest-growing teams in the JLR business with the main focus to respond to the increasing mix of BEV vehicles in our cycle plan.
Your mission? You will be responsible for implementing Mechanical Design solutions to meet component functional targets.
