Marketing and Communications Officer - Bolton, United Kingdom - Bolton School

    Default job background
    Description

    Required from September 2024

Marketing at Bolton School is focused on effective communications of our everyday life – we communicate what we do rather than say what we do.

Reporting to the Head of Foundation, the successful candidate will be responsible alongside a colleague for the marketing and communications of the Bolton School Foundation to ensure each section is full and that the School maintains its competitive advantage in the market place.

The post holder will devise and organise online and offline advertising campaigns and assist in the organisation and delivery of marketing events. The successful candidate will be required to accelerate transformational change to the use of digital communication.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, have experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, and will have excellent oral and written communication skills. The role requires someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail, who will also be able to work flexibly within a team and towards common objectives.

With some 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school. It is situated a mile or so from the town centre in a stunning 32 acre campus and is within easy reach of some of the nation's finest cities and countryside.

A large Foundation Services Department supports the School operations and within this there is a trading arm, Bolton School Services Limited (BSSL). This includes BSS Weddings and Events, BSS Leisure Services, Kidzone and Patterdale Hall, a superb Outdoor Pursuits Centre situated at the Southern end of Lake Ullswater. Those who work within the organisation are able to combine the experience and pleasure of educating and being around young people with some of the challenges of a business environment.

An attractive salary and benefits package is available. The hours of work are 35 per week, between Monday and Friday, from 8.30am until 4.30pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break per day, however these hours are flexible and will regularly involve working in the evenings during term-time, managed by using a time off in lieu system.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 27 June 2024 at 4.00pm

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 03 July 2024

We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace to reflect the diversity of our pupils and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and to join Bolton School. As an equal opportunities' employer, we welcome applicants from all sections of the community and are committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees. We do not condone discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.

Bolton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Criminal Records Check for Regulated Activity.

We look forward to receiving your application.
