    The shift pattern for this post is Rotational

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to develop and utilise existing clinical, leadership and management skills within the Charge Nurse role in Ward 66, Acute Neurosurgery, Institute of Neurological Sciences.

    The post holder will support the Senior Charge Nurse by supporting and managing the Neurosurgical nursing team within the ward ensuring that patients' needs are assessed, care planned, implemented and evaluated, and that there is consultation and involvement of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team in supervising, training and education in conjunction with the Clinical Educator. The post holder will exercise advanced patient care knowledge and skills to direct and provide strong leadership in the provision of a high quality patient experience, ensuring safe patient centred care.

    Under direction from the Senior Charge Nurse, exercise effective management of the nursing team, optimising the use of human resources, absence management, and rostering to reflect activity requirements. It is essential that the successful candidate has a minimum of 3 years' expert experience within an acute neurosurgical ward environment, and demonstrates successful leadership skills
