    Description
    Position: Multi Skilled Driver Location UK Mobile Reports to: Delivery Manager Purpose of the Role The successful and safe delivery of the programmed work / transit shift of Rail Grinders, Rail Milling and Tampers. Being competent to drive both types of C21 & C44 Rail Grinders and Rail Milling Machine. In addition, you would also be trained to drive other types of OTM plant. Key Role Accountabilities
  • Driving and route conducting the machines safely and effectively
  • Reporting any machine defects to Grinding Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor, where appropriate.
  • To work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures.
  • Assist as required
  • Assist in maintaining quality systems, and stabling database by continually monitoring, reviewing, and making recommendations for updating as required
  • Required undertake route learning / refreshing as and when required. Must maintain and work towards expanding route knowledge base.
  • Will be required to drive all other OTM¿s such as Rail Milling Machine and Tampers
  • Required to keep all routes current via the Colas Rail route app
    • SHEQ Responsibilities
  • Work to applicable Safety Plans and Method Statements.
  • Comply with Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Close Calls and safety conversations submitted as per procedure
