- Support LSM & LMRe functions across the business with data and analysis
- Collect and understand requirements for new PowerBI reporting and deliver new reports.
- Complete complex ad-hoc requests and analysis problems
- Assist in resolving data issues
- Engage with the MI Business Partnering scheme to facilitate better communications and relations throughout the company
- Promotes the use of data and the profile of MI within the company
- Investigating new software/concepts that may assist MI or the business
- Research new data availability that will enrich current data offerings and reports
- Work with business and IT teams to ensure strategic approach taken
- Develop Liberty culture of data driven decision making through training and education
- Develop business knowledge and technical skills to be able to provide support the business.
- Produce clear and concise reports to analyse business activity
- Any other duties as is reasonably requested.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerBI; can clearly demonstrate knowledge on building reports to a high standard
- Advanced business data analysis skills
- Demonstrates initiative in undertaking tasks and the ability to prioritise stakeholder needs
- Effectively interacts and communicates with clients and colleagues to understand what kind of information they need to produce it
- Requires strong and relevant work experience gained in a similar role within the insurance industry (underwriting or broking)
- The ability to work in a small team, coach peers and add value
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases; can demonstrate how to write queries.
- Shows initiative in undertaking tasks and the ability to prioritise stakeholder needs
- Effectively uses and manipulates data from databases and I.T. systems to produce qualitative data for the business
- An understanding of key insurance concepts, the UW process, Claims, Operations and back office functions,
- An understanding of alternative reporting/data capture systems such as (but not limited to) alteryx or Qualtrics
- Understanding of sharepoint functionality and Power BI administration

About the Role
This role will involve working within the Business Insights team to develop and deliver high quality reporting and analytics for all business areas. This will involve engaging heavily with multiple areas and disciplines throughout the business, gathering requirements and creating analytics or reports to service them. The role will then progress the service to supply additional insights and trends to add value and information to end users. In addition, the role will actively seek new sources of relevant data where applicable, and also explore potential of machine learning and other advanced capabilities to best support LSM.
The role will include reporting in PowerBI, SQL server management studio and excel, in-line with the standards and methodologies implemented by the central MI function. In addition, the role will entail supporting any projects and business initiatives undertaken by MI and the business, whilst working with the MI team to ensure the best approach is taken to data and reporting.
The role will also involve liaising with the Business Insights Manager to correspond on workload and co-ordinate effort for the Business Partnering scheme. This should ensure Liberty's MI and analytical needs are met with an emphasis on becoming a trusted business advisor, whilst remaining reactive to requests as they come in.
