    Job Description

    Based in London, we're looking for a Compliance Lead to lead a team of compliance managers and specialists. In your role, you will be responsible for creating global policy standards for Wise Group, seeking out ways in which we can continuously improve and support our compliance teams around the world. You will also develop our global compliance training strategy. You will partner with our People team and our designers to deliver our regulatory training to our Wisers and lead our compliance specialists, supporting them to deliver best in class training to our Wisers.

    You will work with our Compliance Officers around the world. You will be a pro at stakeholder management, have a passion and interest in international regulation and be adept at spotting common requirements where we can support our teams around the world with their compliance obligations.

    Your mission:
    • Own, maintain and develop our Global Compliance Policies and documentation, building these out to support new products, new markets and new teams.
    • Be accountable for the build and execution of an effective and scalable Policy Compliance Framework.
    • Lead, develop and inspire a team of compliance professionals to oversee and promote our global policies and standards, and partner with our wider Global Expansion and Governance and Assurance teams within Global Regulatory Compliance for the effective Group oversight of our licences around the world.
    • Collaborate with our 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defence and be issues focussed, driving change and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Be details focussed and comfortably engage to find solutions.
    • Be adept at handling multiple projects and supporting on other areas of the team or ad hoc projects if required.
    • Promote and advise on regulatory best practice across our global regulatory compliance programme;
    • Create and enhance our global regulatory processes for the continuous improvement of our customer and compliance outcomes and increased efficiency;
    • Support the delivery of the regulatory compliance programme across our licensed entities.
    This role will give you the opportunity to:
    • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Wise's business and deliver change globally
    • Lead and develop a team of compliance professionals
    • Be creative - design and enhance our policy standards and processes, adapting to regulatory change and practices and business growth
    A little about you:
    • You will have ideally worked for a leading payments fintech and be motivated to look for ways in which we can continually improve.
    • You will have financial services regulatory experience, from a legal or compliance advisory background.
    • We would love it if you are tech-savvy and interested in how technology can help us to deliver our mission.
    • You have experience managing small size teams, providing guidance and feedback to more junior team members.
