Full time - 37.5 hours per week
    Description

    Job overview

We're searching for an exceptional Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team on a fixed term/secondment basis for 12-months. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice across our Community Mental Health Service Line.

Within the Community Mental Health Service Line, you'll work closely with the Deputy Director of Community Mental Health Services and Head of Operations, in the delivery of the highest standard/quality of care for users of our service. Your leadership will be central to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing motivational guidance to our clinical teams. With your support, we aim to create an organisational climate where every individual can contribute to their fullest potential, aligned with our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

    Main duties of the job

As Assistant Director of Nursing, you'll lead service development and transformation initiatives, advocating for service re-design to enhance service user experience. Your expertise will ensure that delivery plans are compatible and will maximise opportunities for more efficient working in addition to promoting staff empowerment and accountability for service improvement at a local level. Moreover, you'll champion innovation and best practices, driving the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve service delivery and patient outcomes. With your guidance, our clinical teams will embrace a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and lifelong learning.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on nursing practice and service user care within our organisation. If you're a registered nurse with extensive leadership experience and a passion for driving positive change, we encourage you to apply. If you wish to apply for this role on a secondment basis, it is essential that you have the approval of your line manager prior to submitting your application.

Please note, interviews will take place on Friday 17 May 2024.

    Working for our organisation

At Mersey Care we strive to continually build on our values and beliefs that will allow all our workforce to develop their potential and bring their whole self into the organisation. In order to strengthen our inclusivity and diversity, we recognise the need to ensure we become more representative of the communities we serve.

This is recognised in the NHS England EDI Workforce Improvement Plan 2023 and NHS Workplace Race Equality Standard that in senior NHS Leadership positions, there is an underrepresentation of Black and Asian Minority colleagues (BME).

As an organisation we are committed to our Perfect Care Goal on Anti-racism and so are employing positive action where we know there is underrepresentation and for this position therefore, we encourage applications from people who are from BME communities.

The Equality Act permits Mersey Care as a defined public authority, to take steps to address inequity and underrepresentation as positive action, and this includes our approach for this position.
