Description

Octavius Infrastructure are looking for a key addition with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager to run highways projects in the Essex region.

We have a strong portfolio of work we'd like your help in delivering as well as playing a part in the strategic growth of our customer base in the area.

As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible a portfolio of 4-5 projects, with a combined value of c£25m. You'll collaborate to develop design solutions, through to successful execution on site, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

We are a leading provider to the rail and transportation sector delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

You'll be working on.... (what your role and responsibility is)

Provide visionary leadership for roads and highways schemes, ensuring they are executed with the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Managing a portfolio of projects, package values of £15-30m.
Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies, including scope, schedules, and budgets, to achieve project objectives and align with the company's mission.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, fostering effective working relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, anticipating potential challenges and implementing contingency plans to ensure project success.
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular project reviews, reporting on progress, milestones, and key performance indicators to senior management and stakeholders.
Maintain meticulous project documentation and provide clear and regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
Monitor project budgets, control costs, and make strategic financial decisions to ensure the financial viability of projects.

About you.... (what you are skilled at)

Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
Familiarity with roads, highways, drainage, earthworks and structures. Including an understanding of relevant technologies and best practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, build effective relationships, and manage stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with a focus on delivering projects within a framework environment.
Previous experience working for a tier one contracting organisation

You'll bring... (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as civil engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in Senior project management, especially in overseeing roads/highways projects from initiation to completion.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and lead project teams effectively.
The ability to build and maintain positive client relationships, including presenting project updates and addressing client concerns.
Experience managing a portfolio of projects with individual scheme values of £2-£10m.
