Deputy Director of Children's Care - London, United Kingdom - Surrey County Council
Description
Please note that this vacancy is not part of Surrey County Council, we are advertising this on behalf of a partnership organisation.
Caterham Community Church is a charitable organisation that's been around for over 100 years and Noah's Ark Preschool was established in 1987 and is run by the church.
It has 26 places for children, based on space and staffing levels and takes children aged from 2 years 6 months until they transition to the reception year at primary school.
The Preschool is seen by the church as a service to the local community alongside its many other activities such as its Counselling Centre and Toddler group.
The work of the preschool is inspired by its Christian ethos and values; nevertheless, children of all faiths or none are welcomed.
Noah's Ark Preschool offers children a warm, nurturing, and caring environment. It is committed to helping children grow in confidence, learn, and relate in a safe, structured way. Each child is cared for both as an individual and in the way that they relate to others. The Deputy Manager of Noah's Ark plays a key role in running the preschool and delivering a high quality, environment, service, and experience to the children in its care.
We are looking for someone who is a team player, enthusiastic, has the ability to lead and motivate staff and a natural flare for early years children's work.
The person should also have experience, preferably including the management of staff, and a knowledge of and experience of working to relevant statutory guidelines and Ofsted requirements.
Salary level is dependent upon experience, with the potential to progress through the range subject to performance. We also offer an optional contributory pension scheme and reimbursement of appropriate expenses.Faith :
The Christian faith has a strong influence on the ethos and activities within the preschool so applicants must be supportive of the Christian influence on the preschool and willing to promote that influence.
5 years' experience of work in a preschool setting with a preference for someone with managerial and leadership experience.
A good working knowledge of and experience with Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.Working alongside the Manager, have responsibility for the management of staff employed to work at Noah's Ark Preschool, undertaking regular reviews, setting objectives, and organising rotas.
Assist in ensuring compliance with the safeguarding and welfare, staff-child and space ratios, Noah's Ark Preschool policies and practices and other requirements set out in the statutory framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Maintain a safe environment for the children, staff, and others.Assist in the administrative work for the enrolment of all children.
Alongside the Manager, be responsible for the overall day to day management and efficient running of the pre-school, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service and a safe, caring and stimulating educational environment.
Alongside the Manager, deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2 years 6 months through to their transition to reception year.
Be responsible for developing a Noah's Ark Preschool nursery plan with an appropriate play-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
Take time to develop strong relationships with parents/carers, encouraging involvement in their child's development.Caterham Community Church is an equal opportunities Employer.
Please email the church office at .If you would like to chat to someone about the job please email the church office and Peter Trowbridge, who is in charge of the recruitment process, will be more than happy to get back to you and answer any questions you may have.
Applications for this post need to be with the church office by midnight on the 17th May and completed on the application form.
All interview candidates will be given the opportunity to visit and see round the Preschool.#
