    Our current Deputy Chief Nurse will be taking up the Trust's Interim Chief Nurse post. This provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and high-achieving individual to take up the Interim Deputy Chief Nurse role for a minimum period of 6 months.

    We are looking to appoint a dynamic and high-achieving Interim Deputy Chief Nurse who will drive improvement through compassion taking forward the implementation of our nursing priorities, to lead the delivery of excellent standards of patient safety, care and experience, and be a role model to our nursing workforce.

    Main duties of the job Working closely with the Interim Chief Nurse, you will provide strategic and value based professional leadership for our talented nursing workforce and will ensure that our nursing practice is of the highest possible standard. Through strong professional leadership, the Deputy Chief Nurse will empower staff to develop best practice in the delivery of high-quality patient care, fostering and enhancing a collaborative and inclusive culture which builds on our Trust values.

    As well as providing visible and purposeful leadership within the organisation with a focus on to the nursing and quality agenda, the Deputy Chief Nurse will be the lead for pre and post registration nurse education and training (including Internationally Educated Nurses, newly registered nurses and nursing students and apprentices), operationally managing the corporate Nursing Practice Development and Innovation Team. The post holder will work largely unsupervised and will be able to credibly influence across the organisation and health and social care system at the highest level. The Trust runs Broadmoor Hospital, one of three high secure hospitals in the country, with an international reputation.

    Our high secure services care for patients from South of England and we provide low and medium secure services across eight London boroughs. The Trust also provides mental and physical healthcare in three London boroughs (Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham). We employ 4,500 staff, of whom 56% are BME. Our turnover for is 426m.

    The Trust is an established partner and contributor in the development of the evolving North West London Integrated Care System and the Integrated Care Board.     • Registered Nurse (RMN, RGN, RNLD)
    • Masters Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
    • Undertaken leadership development training.
    • Teaching qualification
    Desirable
    • Second Nursing Qualification
    • Doctorate
    • Recognised management training
    • Trained in QI
    • Non-medical prescriber
    Previous Experience Essential
    • Experience at a senior management level, including managing change and introducing new ways of working for nurses and practitioners.
    • Significant experience of operationally managing staff teams.
    • Experience of Managing regulatory inspections.
    • Experience of managing complex projects including a number of stakeholders across multiple sites.
    • Detailed understanding of the recovery approach with experience of developing recovery oriented practices
    Desirable
    • Experience of working in community services
    • Experience of managing projects across multidisciplinary teams
    • Experience of reporting to the Board
    Knowledge Essential
    • National performance targets for health providers
    • Understanding of governance framework and its application in practice.
    • Research, audit and quality improvement methodologies and their application.

    • Current professional developments in nursing and nurse education/development.
