This is a key role in the Strategy function, responsible for acting as the bridge between strategy and execution. A highly visible opportunity to join a newly formed team and you will work with senior leaders to unleash our full potential.
With a strong market, competitor and other external focus, knowledge, and insight, you'll partner with colleagues across our Business, Digital and Network functions. You ensure that strategic plans is built collaboratively with stakeholders and communicated to enable them to understand the direction of Business and support the delivery of the strategy.
You are key in this role to developing & managing a process to ensure BT Business successfully executes key elements of its overall strategy. You will be pivotal in navigating the ever-evolving external & internal landscapes, driving successful execution of the strategy by developing best-in-class end-to-end strategic planning processes. You'll also help by identifying & finding ways to overcome key barriers to successful and speedy execution.
Your strategies will shape major initiatives, investments, and transformations critical to BT Business's future success.
We are looking for a unique blend of entrepreneurial, forward-thinking strategy skills, with a keen understanding of planning processes and how to successfully execute in a large, complex corporate environment. Your insights, analyses, and foresight will be instrumental in sustaining our legacy of excellence while charting new territories for growth and impact.

What you'll be doing
• Develop an end-to-end Strategic Planning process: Review existing Financial, Strategy & Planning processes in BT Business; work with key stakeholders across Strategy, Transformation, Finance & other functions to agree & implement a best-practice end-to-end strategic planning process & governance model
• Manage & lead the Strategic Planning process: Own, manage & drive the end-to-end strategic planning process, once it has been set-up and established
• Business Partnering: Business Partner with Sales segment MDs, establishing yourself as an extended member of their Leadership Team, to ensure that strategy & plans are understood, being interlocked with local plans & landing well on the "frontline", & acting as the point-person between the segment team & Strategy, Insights & Partnerships
• Strategic thought leadership: 1) Lead deep-dive diagnostics into barriers to successful execution of strategy, and develop processes, plans and approaches to mitigate and overcome the barriers. 2) Support on thought leadership projects looking further out at potential customer / market developments on a five to ten year time horizon
• Strategy Development: Work on ad hoc strategy development projects where required (develop, recommend & agree strategies on specific ad hoc topics)
Experience Required
• Experience in Strategic Planning or related fields, within a corporate environment (and/or with some management consulting experience)
• Familiarity with best-practice strategic planning processes and techniques
• Familiarity with overall strategy development techniques
• Ability to distil complex concepts into compelling presentations for senior stakeholders & executives
• Experience of collaborating with and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders both internally and externally
• Analytical skills and experience developing insightful market and competitive analyses
• Experience framing and evaluating business cases, financial modelling, and data-driven decision making
• Industry acumen - Good understanding of Telco, and IT services dynamics
